Cubs’ Best Win In 2009

Best all around win for the Cubs this season.
Dempster was simply outstanding. His best start of the year.
It’s a nice rebound game following his worst start of the season–six runs, seven hits in four innings against Pittsburgh. And, Saturday’s performance looked a lot like the Dempster from a year ago.

Cubs Are Lost Without Lilly

Ted Lilly continues to be the Cubs’ best stopper. And once again, he was big-time Friday afternoon!
Not to mention, if the Cubs’ season ever hinges on winning one game I’d take Lilly over anyone else in Chicago’s rotation.

Back At .500 & Some Nomar Talk

Eight times the Cubs have been sub .500 this season. A bit of surprising news for a club expected to win the Central in a landslide.
Of course, they’re the many injuries to blame, but this still isn’t a .500 club, let alone one that should fall sub .500 eight times–they’re much better than 22-22.
Although, the [...]
