The Cubs are showing serious interest in erecting a Toyota billboard above the left field bleachers.
I can already see the crocodile tears welling up in many fan’s eyes, but to me there’s really no difference between this and painting the Under Armor logo on the outfield wall.
Doesn’t mean I like it, but I understand the value of adding additional revenue. And most importantly, I’m taking Tom Ricketts’ word that he’s committed to reinvesting money into the team.
This is BIG money. Money the Cubs can use on payroll and renovating the park, which is an absolute must-do.
So after taking a long sigh…I say go for it.
