Castro’s First Career Walkoff!

Brewers fans can’t be happy.

Despite dominating starting pitching through the first two games of this series, Milwaukee has nothing to show for it except two heart-breaking losses against the lowly Cubs.

And this comes on the heels of sweeping St. Louis to take over the NL Central lead. Painful if you’re a Brewers backer.

Meanwhile, the Cubs have made it two in-a-row, albeit ugly wins, but two straight nonetheless.

Chicago remains the lone team in MLB without three straight wins. Maybe they get off the schnide tomorrow night!

I talked about it yesterday…Chicago is still playing hard under Mike Quade. Not to be denied from a stellar outing by Yovani Gallardo, the Cubs battled back for a walk-off win…the first of Castro’s young career!

I give Quade the credit. He’s not letting this club hang its head. And I love that he went with Marmol in the ninth instead of playing it safe.

Best game in a long time from Aramis. Made some tough plays defensively and clubbed his third HR in last seven games.

Clutch, clutch sac bunt from Fukudome in the 10th moving Campana from second to third. Castro followed with the game-winning hit.

Why not start Campana every game until Byrd returns from his eye injury?

Props to Blake DeWitt. He’s played well in left field for a natural infielder. And he’s made the most of his opportunity, especially at the plate, hitting .303 over his last 15 games.

Randy Wells wasn’t special, but kept it close enough for the Cubs to mount its comeback. However, I still expect more from Randy. But can we count on him to pitch better?

Hats off to Jeff Samardzija (5-2) who earned the win. He’s steadily improved from a very rough first month of the season.

Now let’s see if Big Z can keep it going tomorrow night.
